Aero-TV: AEM Corporation -- New Life/Name For A Proven Company

Building Market Share In The Depths Of The Recession

The company that started as Northern Airborne Technology was bought by Cobham about 15 years ago, and as part of that move, decided to consolidate much of its manufacturing back into the US. But a few divisions, such as AEM, stayed home in Canada.

Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing now builds and distributes a very diverse product line that it has been building for 27 years. AEM hopes to be able to expand its product line and grow from 49 to 70 employees during the depths of the recession. Dave Veitch of AEM tell ANN that the product offerings include four processes, manufacturing the electronics, metalwork, faceplates for panels, and all the repairs. He says along with marketing those four processes, the company has its own product to sell.

The products include audio systems, PA systems, and "tactical accessories." Veitch says the goal is to take the line and refresh it, make them current and competitive, and "hopefully, that will take us into some other markets that we haven't been in before."

Veitch says that all the dealers of Northern Airborne are now dealers for AEM. He looks forward to a bright future for the company.
