AD (Australia): Extra

AD/EXTRA/7 Upper Longeron at Horizontal Stabiliser 2/2003 TX
Applicability: Model EA 300 S aircraft, serial numbers 01 through 29.

Requirement:
1. Inspect in accordance with Part I of Extra Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) No. SB-300-2-95 Issue D, dated 30 January 2001.
2. Modify in accordance with Extra MSB No. SB-300-2-95 Issue D.
Note: LBA AD 2003-001 refers.
Compliance: 1. Before further flight after 23 December 2002, unless already accomplished.
2. Before 28 February 2003, unless already accomplished.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 December 2003.
Background: Cracks have been discovered on Model EA 300 S aircraft in front of the horizontal stabiliser attachment as well as between the attachment fittings in the upper longeron. This Directive introduces an additional pair of tubes to improve the stiffness of the fuselage cross-section underneath the stabiliser attachment.
