Cessna's CEO Graduates College

A Real Degree!

04.01.05 Special Edition: Cessna's CEO, Jack Pelton, is a college graduate. This time... from a real school. Pelton flipped his tassel Friday at the Herman LaVritz School of Art and Arc Welding in North Hollywood, CA.

"It feels good," Pelton said from the podium as he delivered the commencement address. "I not only can design a fine airplane -- now I can draw Ho Ho the Clown!"

As ANN reported last November, Pelton was implicated in a CBS 60 Minutes story about fake college diplomas.

"That really smart," said the Cessna chief. "So I buckled down, got on the internet and started drawing."

The results? Breathtaking, say critics.

"The texture, the expression and the use of black velvet all make this one of the best sad clown pictures I've ever seen," said art critic Charles Johnson. "I looked at it for a half-hour and wanted to cry. That's how much the picture meant to me."

Pelton said he may consider an advanced degree. "I'm definitely thinking of moving on. I'd like to learn to draw Elvis. You know, I think that's a work worth doing."
