Swiss to Follow Swissair?

ANN Reader Dalibor reports that, "Swiss is to cut its fleet, drop routes and slash 700 jobs. The company, which was created last year from the ashes of failed Swissair, says it will reduce its fleet by 20 aircraft - 17 regional aircraft, two MD-83s and one Airbus A321. Routes and destinations will be reduced at five bases in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern and Lugano with effect 30 March."

It's not all bad news...

He continued, "Other than some reduction of services to London City Airport, the UK is not affected."

On the other hand, "The company said it is heading for a loss this year." Nevertheless, "Current plans call for the delivery of four Embraer 170s (145 pictured) later in the year.
