USUA To Hold Sport Pilot Transition Seminar For Northeast Region

Ultralight'ers Who Wish To Attend Encouraged To Contact Group NOW

As the deadline for ultralight pilots who wish to transition into the new Sport Pilot category draws near, the US Ultralight Association has scheduled a Sport Pilot Transition Seminar for Saturday, May 13, 2006 for any and all interested pilots in USUA Region 2 (Delaware, District Of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia).

The Seminar will be held in the home city of the USUA National Headquarters -- Gettysburg, PA -- and is being sponsored by the Gettysburg Light Flyers (USUA Club 160). The all-day class will be presented by USUA Seminar Presenter Jim Sweeney. Registration begins at 8 AM, with the proceedings getting underway immediately thereafter.

The registration fee for the event is $100 for USUA members and USUA Club members, and $125 for non-members.

Pre-registration and payment for the class is required no later than Friday, May 5. USUA asks for anyone interested in attending the class to contact the organization immediately. The minimum attendance required for the class is 16 -- and if they fail to meet that number, USUA representatives tell ANN the class cannot be held.

Since registered ultralight pilots wishing to transition into Sport Pilot will need to proceed before January 31, 2007, this class is designed to provide the essentials for those ultralight pilots to smoothly and successfully complete the Sport Pilot Knowledge and practical tests, as well as guide them through Light Sport Aircraft registration.

Sport Pilot test prep books and related manuals will be available for purchase prior to, and at the seminar, through USUA at discounted rates for members. Lunch will be provided at the class, as well.
