Flight Resource 'Props Up' Cessnas With MT

ANN has learned that Flight Resource, located in Benton, Kansas (and in association with MT Propeller of Germany), have STC'd the installation of the MTV-9 three blade composite propeller, and the MTV-15 two blade composite propeller on a full line of Cessna models that include the Cessna 180, 182, 185, 206, T206, 207, T207, 210 & T210 aircraft, powered by Continental engines.

Flight Resource claims that, "This FAA STC approval is an unprecedented event for Cessna owners, allowing them to take advantage of the many benefits of using high tech composite propellers. The MT propellers significantly reduce weight, improve take-off and climb performance, normally add cruise speed, and fly turbine smooth. They also have life unlimited blades, NO Ad’s, FOD repairable blades and often reduced noise."

Reported Performance Gains Over Cessna 206G (with IO520H and 3 blade Hartzell Top Prop)

  • Weight reduction: 27 pounds
  • Take-off distance over 50 foot obstacle reduced by 168 feet
  • Climb rate increased 105 fpm
  • Cruise speed increased by 5 knots

Flight Resource is reportedly the largest distributor of MT Propellers in the world. Flight Resource also operates an MT Propeller approved service station at their headquarters in Benton, Kansas.
