TTC now offers an FAA approved STC (SA10841SC) to install the Honeywell TPE331-12JR engine on all Cessna 208B model Caravans. The engine conversion replaces the 600 shp or 675 shp Pratt & Whitney PT6A-114/114A engine with a factory new 1100 shp Honeywell TPE331-12JR turbine engine flat-rated to 900 shp.

"We are really excited about the potential of the Supervan 900 and the performance has exceeded all of our expectations. This is an aircraft that can cruise 30-40 kts faster than the stock airplane or burn less gas for the same speed as before. Takeoff distance is substantially improved and the rate of climb is almost double that of the original. Another great benefit is more horsepower available in icing conditions. A customer will gain all this performance at a lower total operating cost. We believe that our conversion will breathe new life and new markets into an already great aircraft," said Bobby Bishop, owner and president of Texas Turbine Conversions, Inc.

Benefits include:

  • Increased horsepower from 600 or 675 shp to 900 shp
  • Flat-rated 900 shp to 35C
  • 7000 TBO for Part 135/121 operators
  • 5000 TBO for Part 91 operators
  • 200 KTAS at max cruise at 12,000 feet
  • More horsepower in icing conditions
  • 3 to 5 gal/hr less fuel burn for the same speed as the OEM
  • 8 to 10 kts faster than OEM for the same burn
  • Lower per hour operating cost

Current kit pricing is $625,000 installed. A customer can retain their original engine and firewall forward components or it can be utilized as exchange credit toward the conversion, which could substantially reduce the cost based upon the remaining engine time. The kits will be installed at various approved installation facilities worldwide.
