Avidyne Extends Reach Into Helicopter Market Of EX600 MFD

Adds RDR-1400 Radar And HTAWS Interfaces

Avidyne tell ANN that new helicopter-specific interfaces uniquely position their EX600 Multi-Function Display (MFD) as the MFD solution of choice for helicopter operators. The EX600 is now approved as a display replacement for the Telephonics' (formerly Bendix) RDR-1400-Series Color Weather and Search & Rescue Radar System. In addition, Avidyne has added the Honeywell MK XXI and MK XXII Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS) to the EX600's extensive list of compatible interfaces. The EX600 also meets the stringent DO-160E vibration qualification required for helicopter operations.

EX600 HTAWS

"Avidyne continues to lead the industry in radar-replacement MFDs, and the addition of the RDR-1400 interface and HTAWS make the EX600 the MFD of choice for an even larger number of aircraft and helicopter operators," said Rob Higby, Avidyne's Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

EX600 Storm Vectors

"Helicopters represent a strategically important segment of the market for Avidyne's MFD and Safety Sensor products," said Patrick Herguth, Avidyne's Chief Operating Officer. "Our Traffic products have always had wide acceptance in the helicopter market, and now we are targeting helicopter-specific radar interfaces and HTAWS interfaces which are critical for MFDs in this market."
