Pro Line 21 Enhancements Featured On Challenger 650 Flight Deck

Synthetic Vision, Multiscan Radar, ADS-B Out Among The Upgraded Features

Rockwell Collins' next-generation Pro Line 21 enhancements will be featured on the Bombardier Vision flight deck of the Challenger 650 aircraft. The enhancements are expected to be available during the second half of 2015.

The avionics system, which Bombardier markets as Pro Line 21 Advanced, significantly enhances mission performance, increases access to airports and enables future airspace operations through a number of key capabilities, including:

  • Enhanced speed and memory for growth-capable Flight Management Computer
  • Synthetic Vision System (SVS)
  • MultiScan weather radar
  • Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B Out), DO-260B compliant
  • Future Air Navigation System (FANS 1/A)
  • Localizer Performance with Vertical (LPV) guidance
  • RNP Authorization Required (RNP AR 0.3)

Pro Line 21 Advanced also offers the newest version of Rockwell Collins’ Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS) with split chart capability, which features North American XM satellite weather—including the continental U.S. and portions of Canada and the Caribbean, uplinked global weather and enhanced usability of electronic charts, maps and documents. The system also automatically displays the airport chart once the aircraft lands.

“The next-generation features we’re bringing to Pro Line 21 are positioning these aircraft for the long term,” said Craig Olson, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins. “The enhancements also deliver a greater level of safety and efficiency for flight crews, ultimately benefitting the passengers with smoother flights that arrive to their destinations on time.”

A breakthrough in business aviation, the Bombardier Vision flight deck is designed to deliver a completely new cockpit experience. By combining the best in technological advancements of Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics with superior aesthetics and ergonomics, pilots will experience flying a Challenger 650 at an unprecedented level of control and comfort.

Pro Line 21 Advanced is also available as a retrofit option for fielded Challenger 300 and will be made available for Challenger 605 aircraft through Bombardier Customer Services.
