FAA Approves BendixKing WiFi On Many Business Airplanes

Approval Reduces Paperwork, Streamlines Installation Of AeroWave In-Flight Internet

BendixKing has received FAA approval for the installation of its AeroWave 100 in-flight internet product on broad list of popular general aviation airframes. An approved model list (AML) supplemental type certificate (STC) approval is now available for popular turboprop and turbine airframes including the Cessna Mustang, M2, CJ2, CJ3, CJ4, Caravan, Embraer Phenom 100 & 300, Pilatus PC-12, Daher TBM 700/850/900, Textron King Airs, Mitsubishi MU-2 and Turbo Commanders. Additional models will be added to the approved model list over time.

The AeroWave system features optional certified Wi-Fi routers that simplify installation and provide easy voice or data connectivity for passengers and crew. AeroWave service plans are low-cost and easy to understand with billing based on hours of use rather than the amount of data used. AeroWave not only provides voice and internet connectivity to passengers, but opens up a world of connected Honeywell services to GA pilots such as internet weather services, flight planning tools and communication with flight dispatchers or FBOs.

“We are excited to have achieved this milestone for our AeroWave system because it significantly reduces the paperwork and overall installation time” said Justin Ryan, president, BendixKing. “Now a broader range of general aviation aircraft can easily get a low-cost in-flight internet capability which enables a world of services for both passengers and crew.”

The AeroWave 100 is an Inmarsat Class 15 system that provides worldwide Internet access previously available only to business jets. Complementing the AeroWave 100 are optional certified Wi-Fi routers, available in data-only and voice/data configurations, which enable quick and easy connection to the service. Features include:

  • The simple, prepaid $40/hour service plan eliminates unexpected charges associated with traditional per-MB satellite data plans.
  • Optional certified Wi-Fi router capabilities include either data-only or data and high-quality voice support. Voice support requires an add-on Inmarsat voice data package.
  • Installation kits and required RF cables are now included in the base system.

BendixKing is offering a $3,000 promotional rebate to customers taking delivery of AeroWave 100 systems prior to June 1, 2016. In addition, purchase and installation of AeroWave 100 or other BendixKing products can be quickly and simply financed through National Aircraft Finance Company.

The AeroWave 100 is available now through the BendixKing dealer network. MSRP is $24,995 with installation kits including a standard ARINC 600 tray and $27,495 with installation kits including an ARINC 600 tray with cooling fan.

The AeroWave 100 Wi-Fi Router is available now through the BendixKing dealer network. The data-only router has an MSRP of $3,895 and the data and voice router has an MSRP of $5,895.
