Trump Nominates Campbell As FAA Administrator

Well-Known Critic Of The Agency Expected To Shake Things Up

ANN April 1 Special Edition (Parody)

President Donald Trump has nominated Aero-News Network CEO and Editor-in-Chief Jim Campbell as the next administrator of the FAA.

Washington insiders say the nomination of someone who has been at times an outspoken critic of the agency is consistent with the President’s nominations for other top posts, such as EPA, Education and Energy.

“I love critics. Nobody loves critics more than me, I can tell you,” President Trump said. “And I said a while back that there needs to be a pilot at the head of this agency, and I understand this guy Campbell is a pilot, so that’s huge.”

FAA Administrator Michael Huerta said that he was surprised that the nomination would be made while he still has nearly a year left on his five-year term, but said “I don’t know why. Nothing about this town should surprise me any more.”

Campbell said he was looking forward to the new challenge, as was his wife Masako, who hopes to establish a fashion line with Ivanka Trump. A new FAA logo and official golf shirts are already on Masako’s drawing board, Campbell said. “She’s got some really great ideas.”

Campbell’s nomination would have to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. “I’m wondering if I have to put on a tie for the confirmation hearings,” Campbell said.
