Learjet Down On Grand Bahama Island

Nine On Board Fatally Injured In Accident At Grand Bahama International Airport

A Learjet on approach to Grand Bahama International Airport on Sunday went down near the airport, reportedly resulting in the fatal injury of all nine people on board.

Among the passengers were Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth. Kelly Jackson, a spokeswoman for the Andrew J. Young Foundation, said that Dr. Munroe was the founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship. He was also a pastor and motivational speaker. Mrs. Munroe served as co-senior pastor of the organization.

ABC News reports that Richard Pinder, the senior vice president of the organization and a pastor as well, was also on board the airplane.

The group was en route to a global leadership forum organized by Munroe. His Facebook page said the event would go on as scheduled. "This is what Dr. Munroe would have wanted," the post said.

The investigation was set to begin Monday.
