WACO Owners Join For The 30th Anniversary Celebration And Owners Meeting July 9-11
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the first delivery of the reintroduced WACO YMF. To celebrate the milestone, WACO is inviting owners of WACO built aircraft to come visit the factory, and fly together up the coast of Michigan to the beautiful destination of Mackinac Island.
Back in the days when the biplane was king the name WACO almost became synonymous with the biplane configuration itself. And by the way, it’s pronounced “Wah-co,” and has nothing to do with the city of Waco, TX. As good as WACO was in the “old days,” it’s still held as the gold standard, and the WACO YMF biplane is still being built today by the WACO Aircraft Corporation located in Battle Creek Michigan.
The first new WACO YMF built by Classic Aircraft was delivered in 1985. To celebrate this 30th anniversary, WACO is inviting owners to join with the company for a flying tour of Michigan’s beautiful western coastline, ending with a weekend on Mackinac Island for the Owner’s Meeting and Seminar.
They’ll be flying up the western part of the “Third Coast”, the Michigan shoreline, dotted with many historical lighthouses and coastal towns. Participants will “Luxuriate” in the world famous Grand Hotel on enchanting Mackinac Island.
An owner’s meeting featuring special guest speakers will make the trip complete, discussing safety, aerobatics, and more. WACO owners are a member of an exclusive group of aviators and they are invited to take their place in this exciting and fun-filled event for WACO pilots, their family, and friends.
