Six Companies Recognized With 2014 EBAA Safety Of Flight Awards

Recognized At EBACE2014 For Improving Safety Best Practices

Six European companies have been recognized for their commitment to safe operations as recipients of the 2014 European Business Aviation Association’s (EBAA’s) Safety of Flight Awards, presented at the 2014 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2014). The EBAA Safety of Flight Awards highlight the continued focus on maintaining and improving safety best practices at the companies' flight departments.

This year, three companies – PrivatAir, Tyrolien Jet Services, and VistaJet Limited – were honored with EBAA Platinum Safety of Flight Awards for achieving at least 50 years, or 100,000 hours, of safe flying. Flying Service N.V. received the EBAA Gold Safety of Flight honor for achieving 40 years, or 80,000 hours, without an accident, and London Executive Aviation received the Silver Safety of Flight Award for achieving at least 30 years, or 60,000 hours, without an accident. Finally, GlobeAir AG received the EBAA Bronze Safety of Flight Award for achieving at least 20 years, or 40,000 hours, without an accident.

“During each year’s EBACE event, we not only work to enhance our approach to business aviation safety, but also take a moment to recognize the decades-long commitment that companies have made toward creating a culture around the safety of flight," said EBAA President Brian Humphries in presenting the awards. "Simply put, when it comes to flight safety, these companies are the leaders, and their accomplishments should be recognized.”

The awards were presented in conjunction with the 2014 European Business Aviation Safety Workshop, a traditional component of EBACE that challenges common perceptions about industry safety and best practices, while emphasizing human factors in addressing critical safety information and training issues specific to the European region.

“We know that the business aviation community has an outstanding safety record, in the U.S. and around the world. But it’s a record we’re always looking for ways to build upon, and today’s session was another meaningful way of doing so,” NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen said of the workshop.
