Pratt & Whitney Canada's 1,000th PW200

'Millions and Millions' of Horses. Well, Almost.

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) recently delivered its 1,000th PW200 turboshaft engine. The PW200 engine series powers new generation light twin helicopters including the Agusta A109E, Bell 427, Eurocopter EC135, MD Helicopter's MD900/902 and the Kazan Ansat. The 1,000th engine was delivered to Eurocopter for an EC135P2 helicopter.

A ceremony was held at the Paris Air Show during which a commemorative plaque was presented to Fabrice Brégier, Eurocopter's President. "This is a proud moment for Pratt & Whitney Canada, one that underscores the continued success of our PW200 family of engines in the helicopter market," said Alain M. Bellemare, P&WC's President.

Since its first delivery in 1994, the PW200 engine family has accumulated over 700,000 flying hours and powers over 70 per cent of all new-generation light twin helicopters.
