AeroSports Update: CubCrafters Names New President

General Manager At CubCrafters Since 2009, Randy Lervold, Named President Of CubCrafters

Light aircraft designer and manufacturer CubCrafters has announced the promotion of Randy Lervold to the position of President. Lervold has served as General Manager at CubCrafters since 2009 and has overseen a period of unprecedented growth for the 35 year old company.

Company founder and CEO, Jim Richmond, comments, “When Randy joined CubCrafters in 2009, he bought a fresh perspective to our business. He is organized, focused, and understands our customer. I have asked Randy to take the lead as President of CubCrafters, and I will assume a more ‘hands off’ role as CEO. Randy will continue to manage day to day operations as he has, but will now concentrate on building a leadership team that will allow the company to fully realize the opportunities ahead. We are looking forward to the many positive challenges facing us in the coming years, and I want to give him latitude to make the good decisions that need to be made in order for CubCrafters to become a world class manufacturer of sport and utility aircraft. I am confident in Randy’s abilities.”

“I appreciate the recognition and I am extremely excited about the potential for CubCrafters”, said Lervold. “For the past five years we have worked toward building not only best-in-class aircraft, but a great aircraft company as well. That is the path we will continue to follow“. In positioning the company for further growth, Lervold indicates he will announce additional senior management changes throughout the first half of 2015. The company reports that Mr. Richmond will to continue to focus on product development and other growth opportunities.

CubCrafters offers three ready-to-fly aircraft. The second generation SPORT CUB S2 is the redesign of the classic airplane that falls in the light sport category. The CARBON CUB SS, a more powerful version of the S2 with 180 horsepower. The TOP CUB, has a useful load of over 1000 pounds. CubCrafters also offers their Carbon Cub in a kit version, the Carbon Cub EX.
