Downing Aviation Associates Updates, Expands LSA Comparative Data

Manufacturer List Grows To 60 Aircraft

Aircraft business consulting service Downing Aviation Associates announced this week the expansion of the company's compilations of manufacturers' data of Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) from 57 to 60 aircraft. In addition, DAA has reviewed and updated each aircraft's pricing based on manufacturers' provided data.

"It is important that interested OEMs, individuals, training schools, and other businesses have the most current unbiased comparative LSA information available," said Richard Reuland, Engineering Associate for DAA. "In these challenging economic conditions, being equipped to make an informed buying decision is imperative."

Reuland said the LSA project started in early 2008. "We brought our experience, our technical expertise and resources together to normalize the available information for the aircraft being developed in the Light Sport segment," he said. " In October we began offering this copyrighted material through our website and it has met with very favorable comments. Utilizers of this material appreciate the amount of data that has been gathered and the easy to read tables and charts.  We will continue to update this study as new information and revisions become available."

In addition to the published data, DAA works with individual customers considering purchasing light sport aircraft and with OEMs seeking additional marketing information. DAA couples its base quantitative information with qualitative input by means of simple questionnaires. DAA then provides customized, tailored,  and detailed aircraft-to-aircraft comparison reports, including relative values.

DAA also assists prospective buyers in selecting and comparing optional equipment, helping them configure the aircraft to their specific needs, while avoiding unnecessary expense for unwanted or unneeded add-ons.

Information on how to purchase these comparison listings can be found on the DAA web site.
