ANN Proudly Introduces Our AirVenture 2007 Staff

Say Hello To Evan Sweetman And Jeremy King!

With the final days before the official start to EAA AirVenture 2007 counting down all too rapidly... and, not quickly enough... ANN's senior staff is all-too-aware of the Herculean task ahead of us in reporting EVERYTHING that's news at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.

Fortunately, this year we'll have some help... and some really GREAT help at that. As we've already told you, Aero-News is bringing its largest staff EVER to AirVenture this year, to not only increase our print and audio coverage of the greatest (air) show on Earth, but also to help us kick off Aero-TV. (Come to think of it... "Herculean" doesn't begin to cover it...)

Over the next several days, we thought we'd take the time to introduce you to the print stringers, video crews, and senior staffers who will be bringing our readers and listeners all the news that's fit to pixilate, modulate and videotape from Oshkosh this year.

And now, without further adieu...

Evan Sweetman

While having graduated Webster University, Evan has spent a lifetime around the aerospace industry. A veteran of Oshkosh already, with 15 shows in 22 years, he has also worked at the famous Le Bourget Air Show in Paris, and the Farnborough Air Show in England... but Evan says the highlight of his career in aerospace was the unveiling ceremony for Burt Rutan's X-Prize-winning SpaceShipOne.

"I have always been drawn to Oshkosh for the unbridled enthusiasm for aviation," Evan says. "Few other air shows in the world demonstrate the past, present, and future of the world of aviation.  It truly excites me to be able to see these representations of aviation history in flight and see the excitement of young and old alike as they whiz about overhead."

Jeremy King

Jeremy King will be making his second trek to Oshkosh. His first trip to OSH was his young Eagles flight, at age 14. Now 26, King, a senior mass communications student at the University of West Georgia, is a pilot and mechanic with a broad base of aviation experience -- from American Champion to Zlin. After writing for -- and then running a sister publication of -- a local publication in his hometown, Jeremy's now back at his home base ("newsrooms don't smell like hangars"), turning wrenches for a flying club as he finishes college.

Oshkosh will be King's first chance to combine the two loves of his life -- something he's been longing to do for years. The newspapers, however, triggered a voracious appetite for photography, so keep an eye out for him. He'll be the one with an ANN shirt, and a couple digital SLR cameras hanging from neck straps.

Stay tuned as we introduce more of our stringers and staffers in days to come!
