UAV Camera Platform Knocks Groom On The Noggin

Quadcopter Got Away From Photographer During Pre-Wedding Shoot

A quadcopter being flown by a photographer to get aerial video of a bride and groom during a pre-wedding shoot got away from the operator and conked the groom on the head ... and there is the video to prove it.

Fortunately, the incident happened a couple of days before the wedding, so he had a bit of time to heal before standing "in front of those assembled" for the ceremony.

The video, posted by the Observer.com in its "BetaBeat" column, shows the aircraft taking off and making a beeline for the couple, who are standing in a field. In about five seconds, the aircraft hits the groom and falls to the ground. It lands pointing towards the photographer, who can be seen rushing (upside down) towards the couple. The photographer posted on his blog that he had made one successful fly-by, and was going back for a second shot when the quadcopter got away from him.

Some are superstitious about a bride and groom seeing each other before their wedding, at least if the bride is wearing the gown. Maybe this is proof of that. But the groom asked the photographer to put the video on YouTube. We suppose that few seconds may count towards his 15 minutes of fame.
