Renaissance Aircraft Down And Out?

Report: Facility Closed, Phones Disconnected

What's up with Renaissance Aircraft?

Local reports from the Southeast Missourian reports the company's manufacturing plant at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, has locked its doors. Its telephone has allegedly been disconnected. In fact, reports in the paper indicate that Company President John Dearden's home number may have been disconnected, as well.

Even the emergency numbers posted on the door of the company's manufacturing facility have allegedly been disconnected.

The legally troubled Renaissance program moved to Missouri from Georgia three years ago, eliciting a $2.1 million bond sale by the town of Cape Girardeau to build a 60,000 foot manufacturing plant at the airport. The city continued to work with Renaissance through June, when the City Council amended its contract with the company to delay the start of lease payments on the property until October 1st -- three months later than first agreed.
