Second U.S.-Based Factory Service Center Endorsed For Twin Otter Aircraft

Wipaire Joins the Twin Otter Series 400 Support Network

Viking Air of Victoria, BC, Canada has appointed Wipaire of Saint Paul, Minnesota, as a Factory Endorsed Service Center (“FESC”) to join the Twin Otter Series 400 and legacy de Havilland support network. Wipaire was selected for their proven track record providing quality products and service to the world wide Twin Otter fleet. The FESC program develops strategic partnerships with specialized industry professionals to provide factory recognized service and warranty repairs for both the new Viking Series 400 Twin Otters and legacy de Havilland fleet.

Wipaire has been engineering and manufacturing floats for over fifty years, including Wipline model 13000 floats certified for the Viking Series 400 Twin Otter, and has engineered several Supplemental Type Certified modifications for legacy Twin Otters to improve convenience and reliability. As a leading aircraft service provider, Wipaire offers maintenance, repair, VIP interior design and installation, and exterior paint refinishing all in one convenient location for Twin Otter operators, and is recognized worldwide for quality products and engineering expertise.

Rob Mauracher, Viking’s vice president Business Development and general manager Maintenance Repair Organization, commented, “we are pleased to have Wipaire on board as part of our growing factory endorsed support partners, as they have a long standing relationship working with Viking. We believe they will bring value and expertise to assist our new Series 400 and legacy Twin Otter operator group worldwide.”

Viking launched the new DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 400 production program in 2007, and currently has a production backlog estimated at over $350M. Viking provides OEM support for the worldwide fleet of de Havilland heritage line of aircraft (DHC-1 through DHC-7), and is part of Westerkirk Capital Inc., a Canadian private investment firm with substantial holdings in the hospitality, aviation and real estate sectors.
