EASA Certified: DA42 Multi-Purpose Platform

Upgraded MPP Ready For New Missions And Capabilities

Diamond Aircraft Industries has received EASA certification for the DA42 MNG. Christian Dries, CEO of Diamond Aircraft was handed the EASA certification by Frédéric Copigneaux, Deputy Director Certification (pictured below). EASA stands out in the constructive way of collaboration with DAI - even regarding such a complex project like the DA42 MNG with its wide application range.

The next generation of the multi-purpose platform will have a remarkable less infrared and noise signature. The noise level has been decreased about 12 decibel. Due to the new Austro Engine power plant AE300 the DA42 MNG shows a twenty percent higher engine performance as well as a better single engine performance, more payload and a higher fuel efficiency.

The GFC700 Autopilot guarantees precise flying and leaves some relevant capacity for the pilots during all kinds of Airborne Sensing Missions.

The fully equipped DA42 MPP can operate in all weather conditions and at a wide range of speeds, from a minimum of 75 kts to a maximum of 152 kts (IAS). In monitoring mode the aircraft can fly for up to 12,5 hours without refuelling. The maximum range at 50% power setting is more than 1350 nm. No other aircraft can match the flexibility of the DA42 MPP.

The DA42 MPP was specifically developed to carry the following mission equipment:

  • Large format, digital frame cameras
  • Panchromatic and multi-spectral line scanners
  • Hyper-spectral line scanners
  • Laser scanners
  • Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
  • Gyro-stabilized cameras for high-definition TV
  • Gyro-stabilized multi-sensor cameras for law enforcement and environmental surveillance

The DA42 MPP is worldwide in use - especially in crisis regions like Iraq. Diamond Aircraft reckons that forty percent of the yearly sales of 220 aircraft will be DA42 MNG.
