Two Airplanes Touch At LaGuardia Taxiway Intersection

Both Aircraft Damaged, No Injuries Reported

Two airliners, a Boeing 737 operated by WestJet and a Republic Airways Embraer E170, reportedly came into contact at the intersection of taxiways B and M at laGuardia Airport Thursday morning.

According to the New York Post, the Republic jet, operating as a Delta Connection flight, had stopped on a taxiway while waiting for a gate. The wingtip of the WestJet airliner impacted the vertical stabilizer of the E170, according to the report.

There were no injuries reported among the passengers and crew of either aircraft, according to the report.

The passengers were rebooked on other flights, and airport operations were not affected, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
