Universal Avionics To Present Technical Training Workshop At AEA

Will Cover UniLink CMU And FANS Installation Considerations

Universal Avionics is scheduled to present a Technical Training Workshop during the Aircraft Electronic Association’s (AEA) 57th Annual International Convention & Trade Show in Nashville, Tennessee. Led by Universal Avionics’ Director of Product Support, Andy Seaton, the workshop will cover installation considerations for the company’s UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU), including Future Air Navigation System (FANS). The workshop will take place on Friday, March 14th at 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM in Presidential Mezzanine – Lincoln A.

Universal Avionics developed this technical training workshop in response to the increased momentum of installations for data link and FANS capabilities. The hour-long workshop will provide an overview of the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU, a description of its architecture and considerations for planning an installation.

Universal Avionics’ UniLink UL-800/801 CMU is the company’s third generation airborne data link system. Developed in full compliance with DO-178B Level C guidelines, the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU meets FANS 1/A+ standards. With Universal Avionics’ recently announced Software Control Number (SCN) 31.0, the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU also meets EUROCONTROL’s Link 2000+ Program mandate and the FAA DataComm requirements.

Combined with Universal Avionics’ Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)-Flight Management System (FMS), the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU provides an opportunity to take full advantage of the safety and efficiency benefits that advanced data link capabilities offer.
