ANN's Daily Aero-Linx (05.30.11)

Aero-Linx!

Scouring the information super airways can sometimes be a tough, if educational, task for the Aero-News staff... but it also allows us to check out some truly neat and exciting sites, so it's not that bad a gig. On any given day, we may check dozens (and often hundreds) of different sources for story ideas, and facts confirmation. And, as is the nature of our business, much of this is done on the Internet.

The ANN gang decided we probably shouldn't keep some of the neat sites, info resources, and organizations we've discovered to ourselves... so we decided to bring you Aero-Linx. These are the sites that WE check out -- when we need added perspective, a new spin on a day's topic... or just want to escape into cyber-aero-space for awhile.

Look for some of our favorite sites, coming each day to ANN via Aero-Linx. Suggestions for future Aero-Linx segments are always welcome, as well.

Aero-Linx: The International Council Of Air Shows Foundation Fund for Kyle and Amanda

Kyle Franklin and Amanda Younkin Franklin, a much loved young husband and wife wingwalking team, were seriously injured following an accident at the Air Fiesta 2011 air show in Brownsville, Texas, on March 12. Both received serious burn injuries when Kyle, who was the pilot of the aircraft, performed a forced/emergency landing following an engine failure in his highly-modified Waco biplane. Kyle is in the process of recovering from his injuries... much of which were received in an attempt to rescue Amanda. On May 27th, Amanda's fight for life ended and the entire aviation world is shocked to lose such a bright and vibrant presence.

The following is one of the two funds established to help the Franklin family deal with the extraordinary costs of Kyle's recovery and Amanda's fight for life... We hope you'll contribute generously.
