Canadian ULCC Signs Training Deal With CAE

Montreal A320 Full Flight Sim On Tap for 5 Years with Canada Jetlines

Canada Jetlines is the country's newest addition to the airline ecosystem, beginning operations as Canada's equivalent ultra low-cost carrier in the vein of Ryanair and easyJet.

So far, their growth has been progressing as expected, with recent changes to their training regimen for company pilots. They have now signed an exclusive 5-year training agreement with CAE, for training on the CAE 7000 XR Airbus A320 full-flight simulator at the educator's Montreal Training Centre.

Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines, said the partnership will help to streamline training in an affordable and time-efficient manner, and for good reason. For certain training scenarios and flows, the ability to immediately reset the aircraft's position, settings, and flight conditions to repeat a task is invaluable, and far cheaper than doing the same training in the air.

“We’re excited to partner with global aviation training leader CAE,” said Doyle.

“Our pilots will train on the industry’s most advanced full-flight simulators and benefit from digitally immersive solutions that elevate safety, efficiency and readiness for Canadian travelers from coast to coast.”

CAE is happy to have another customer under their belt for their Montreal location. “We are pleased to welcome Jetlines, a new leisure airline, as our customer and proud to support the vision and launch of a fellow Canadian company,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions. “This agreement is a prime example of our commitment to provide the most innovative training solutions and deliver a world-class training experience.”
