AB139 Delivered To Abu Dhabi Aviation

A new generation medium twin AB139 helicopter recently made its first appearance at the Dubai Airshow. The aircraft on display was delivered last week to Abu Dhabi Aviation and is marketed by Royal Jet. It is the first offshore/VIP configured AB139 to be delivered in the Middle East region and entered service immediately after the airshow. The aircraft is configured with a five passenger VIP interior cabin which can be easily reconfigured to a 15 passenger configuration for offshore transport operations.

The AB139 delivers a maximum cruise speed of 167 knots, a range in excess of 500 nm and superior hover performance. With its large power reserve the AB139's excellent performance is assured even in extreme hot and high conditions or during emergency single engine operations.

The AB139 is constructed with energy absorbing landing gear, fuselage and seats to meet the latest JAR/FAR 29 standards. Large sliding doors on each side of the cabin provide clear access to the unobstructed cabin with a flat floor. An additional 120 cu. ft. of baggage space is also provided behind the cabin, allowing the carriage of large items, accessible from both sides of the helicopter.

Orders for nearly 150 AB139s have been placed by customers around world for a wide range of roles including offshore transport, search and rescue, corporate and VIP transport, law enforcement and medical evacuation.
