Beech Staggerwing Up For Auction

'Buy It Now' Price On Ebay Is Nearly $600,000

The owner of a pristine 1944 Beechcraft G17S Staggerwing is offering his airplane for sale on the online auction site Ebay. The bidding will go on for a about another 10 days, or you can "Buy It Now" for $589,000.

The listing describes the Staggerwing as a previous "Oshkosh Grand Champion" that has been part of the David Oreck collection for 20 years. It has undergone a world class restoration and has had very meticulous maintenance since.

The airplane is in airworthy condition. She will cruise at over 175 knots powered by a 450 horsepower Pratt & Whitney AN-3 Wasp Junior with 452 hours SMOH. It is fully IFR capable.

The Staggerwing is located in North Lima, OH. If you buy it, you'll have to go pick it up or have it shipped at your own expense.
