Mooney Adds WSI InFlight Aviation Weather

Offered As Standard Avionics Option

WSI Corporation and Mooney Airplane Company has announced the availability of WSI InFlight as a Standard Avionics Option on all new Mooney aircraft.

The FAA-certified WSI InFlight AV200 system will be offered in combination with the Garmin-AT Apollo MX20 multifunctional display.

New Mooney aircraft owners will be able to select the option prior to completion of the airframe. Mooney claims the system improves pilots' situational awareness by delivering WSI NOWrad radar mosaic weather imagery and other mission critical aviation weather information directly into the cockpit during flight.

A number of the Mooney Service Centers, including the Kerrville, Texas location are already retrofitting existing Mooney aircraft with WSI InFlight systems. Existing Mooney owners interested in the system should contact their service center for more information.

"Customers purchasing a new Mooney aircraft are looking for performance. WSI InFlight augments a fantastic series of airplanes with the critical information that allows owners to get the most out of their investment."

Nicolas Chabbert, Executive Vice President, Mooney Airplane Company added, "WSI InFlight is the ultimate weather data-link on the market. For our customers who want the best, there is no other option." Continued Chabbert, "That is why Mooney is offering WSI InFlight as an option."

The WSI InFlight system uses satellite technology to continuously broadcast the most accurate, up-to-date weather and related mission critical information to any aircraft equipped with WSI's special purpose antenna and receiver. WSI InFlight delivers a radar mosaic, WSI's NOWrad(R), depicting areas of rain, snow and mixed precipitation, along with echo tops and movement, graphical and textual surface observations (METARs) and Terminal Area Forecasts (TAFs), plotted SIGMETs and AIRMETs direct to the cockpit.
