Allows Installation In Global Express, XRS And 5000
Goodrich announced this week its Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
system recently earned Supplemental Type Certification (STC) from
Transport Canada for the Bombardier Global Express family of
aircraft. This includes the Global Express, the Global XRS and the
Global 5000.
The certification process was conducted by Business Jet Aircraft
Completions (BJAC), based in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. Goodrich
selected BJAC as a worldwide authorized sales and service center of
Goodrich Electronic Flight Bag systems for business jet aircraft
last year.
"High end business jet operators demand the very best products
available for their aircraft. The Goodrich Electronic Flight Bag
offers uncompromising, best-in-class EFB performance and
reliability making it the perfect match for this market," said Jan
Mathiesen, Vice President, Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems.
"BJAC's experience and reputation with business jets make them an
excellent channel to this market. The hardware and software
integration provided by BJAC allows customized installation and
personalized product support to maximize value to the
operators."
"We teamed with Goodrich because of the simplicity of their
EFB's pilot-to-aircraft interface," said Bryan Landry, President,
Business Jet Aircraft Completions. "Their EFB offers many options
including service-minded, one-touch menu applications. BJAC
installations accomplished under Supplemental Type Certificates
allow hard-mounted EFBs to meet and/or exceed client
expectations."
The Goodrich EFB system is comprised of true avionics-grade
equipment specifically designed for the aircraft environment. The
company offers 8.4" and 10.4" optically enhanced, high-resolution,
passively cooled displays which provide easy viewing in day or
night conditions. The computer includes fully integrated video
surveillance system capability and optional wireless connectivity.
The system is fully qualified to DO-160. The BJAC "One-Touch" menu
page integrates EFB software to allow seamless transitions between
software hosted on the Goodrich EFB. The BJAC software also manages
EFB software updates.
Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems provides a broad range
of systems to the aerospace industry worldwide including
SmartProbe(TM) air data systems, Electronic Flight Bag systems,
security and surveillance systems, fuel measurement and management
systems, vehicle health management systems, ice detection and
protection systems, and rescue hoists and cargo winch systems.
