GECAS Leases Twelve 737 MAX 8s To Jet Airways

Deliveries To The Indian Carrier To Begin In June

GECAS has committed to lease twelve Boeing 737 MAX 8s to Jet Airways (India) Limited with deliveries commencing in June 2018 and continuing into 2020. Six of these MAX aircraft will be from GECAS’ skyline order while the other six are from sale and leaseback transactions from Jet Airways’ order book. The new technology aircraft are fitted with CFM-LEAP-1B27 engines.

Jet Airways recently announced their commitment to adding 150 MAX 8 aircraft to their existing fleet. “Partnering with GECAS has enabled us to introduce these modern, fuel efficient aircraft into our fleet," said Vinay Dube, Chief Executive Officer, Jet Airways. "These MAX aircraft from GECAS will be the first of its kind in India and we at Jet Airways are delighted that we are able to offer a superior customer experience to our guests.”

“Given its reliability and fuel efficiency, Boeing’s MAX 8s are ideally suited to support the future fleet needs of Jet Airways,” notes GECAS’ SVP and Manager, Aashish Sonawala, adding “GECAS is honored to continue our twenty-plus year relationship with Jet Airways and we applaud their continued commitment to deliver a world class customer experience.”
