FlightSafety Sets A New Standard

Master Aviator Certification Sets A New Standard For Pilot Achievement And Recognition

FlightSafety International announces the introduction of its new Master Aviator certification program. FlightSafety Master Aviator certification is earned by completing a series of advanced aircraft-specific courses and a choice of electives.

“The FlightSafety Master Aviator program sets a new standard for pilot achievement and recognition,” said David Davenport, Executive Vice President. “The program will help pilots to develop a deeper knowledge of the aircraft they fly and help to ensure a safe and correct response to a broad range of demanding, unexpected situations.”

The progressive Master Aviator curriculum builds upon the fundamentals covered by initial and recurrent training. FlightSafety Master Aviator certification is earned by completing a series of advanced aircraft-specific courses and a choice of electives. At least one FlightSafety initial or recurrent training event must also be completed every 8 months.

The advanced courses include Rejected Takeoff Go/No-Go, Crew Resource Management/Human Factors, Line-Oriented Flight Training (LOFT), and Energy Management. They also include Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) if available for the aircraft type flown by the pilot. A second elective is required if UPRT is not available. The choice of electives varies by aircraft type.
