Cessna To Sponsor 2008 US Sport Aviation Expo In Sebring

Making Its Mark In LSA

The US Sport Aviation Expo which is held annually at Sebring Regional Airport in Sebring, Florida is very pleased to announce that Cessna, a Textron Company, has agreed to be the sponsor of Expo 2008, to be held January 17-20, 2008 at Sebring Regional Airport.

As ANN reported earlier this week, Cessna just announced it will manufacture a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA), which is the focus of the Expo. Sebring organizers say Cessna's announcement provides concrete evidence that the aviation community considers Light Sport Aircraft to be of critical importance to the future of general aviation.

Such aircraft provide a less expensive way for people to enter recreational aviation... and there's little doubt Cessna's new aircraft will be a very strong competitor to be the backbone of the future aviation training fleet.

"We are extremely proud to have Cessna, the primary manufacturer in the general aviation community as our prime sponsor," said Expo Chairman Robert Wood. "We have worked for nearly four years to have our event recognized as the stellar event for LSA. Having Cessna agree to be named as our sponsor certainly adds credibility to our effort. We are proud to be associated with an aviation manufacturer of such reputation."

The US Sport Aviation Expo features light sport airplanes from across the United States, and includes a strong international representation. Aircraft, aircraft engines, avionics and related businesses from nearly every state plus businesses from Canada, Belgium, Romania and Australia will be on exhibit for four days in January.

The Expo -- the first such aviation event of the year -- is aimed at the LSA community. It will include over 150 aircraft on display and available for demonstration flights. New concepts in aircraft design and manufacture will be on display.

The show provides a forum for the development of business relationships in addition to enabling potential plane buyers to see, try out and compare the offerings of the entire LSA community in one place and at one time.
