Plane Pull Will Raise Funds For Charity

Teams Will Attempt To Pull A 147,000 Pound 757 Twelve Feet

Here's a different idea for a fundraising event.

The Arc in Baton Rouge, LA is hosting an event called a "Plane Pull" on October 15th to raise funds for its Early Intervention Program. The Arc is a non-profit organization offering advocacy and services to people with disabilities.

The rules are simple. Teams of up to 25 people will attempt to pull a FedEx 757 weighing 147,000 pounds twelve feet. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fastest Pull Time, Slowest Pull Time and Most Spirited Team.

Admission to the event, planned for October 15 at Baton Rouge Metro Airport, is free to the public. Individual pullers (good luck) will pay $50 for the opportunity to try to pull the plane, while the team fee is $1,250 for teams up to 25 people.

Along with the plane pull, there are activities for the entire family. Vintage and unique aircraft exhibits, live music, lots of great food, FedEx Nascar, children's games and crafts, face-painting, inflatables, climbing wall, motorcycle and classic car show.

The event begins at 0900 local time.
