Mooney: Back in Europe

Over fifty Mooney airplane owners from across Europe are gathering to attend AERO 2003 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and to celebrate the return of Mooney Airplane Company to European distribution. The aircraft and pilots will be received by Mooney Airplane Company and Rheinland Air Services, representing the Mooney Airplane Company in Germany.

Speaking from Friedrichshafen, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mooney, Nicolas Chabbert, said, "Mooney has been conspicuously absent from the European market for the last several years and it is with great pleasure that we return to support and sell our products." [Mooney had discontinued overseas shipments under previous owners.] The weakness of the American dollar presents an unusual opportunity for the purchase of a new Mooney airplane at significant savings."

Aero 2003 is also providing Mooney Airplane Company the opportunity to introduce and discuss the exciting new DX line of aircraft. Chabbert went on to say, "The Mooney DX specifications and improvements are designed to meet the needs and desires expressed by customers. Taking the Mooney product line to an entirely new level of performance, capability and safety, the new DX models set the standard for pilot's who need the fastest, most reliable aircraft available."

Details of the product improvements include lowering the instrument panel by 2 inches, which greatly improves pilot visibility.  The focus is on safety and the Garmin GDL49 weather downlink system and the Garmin GTX 330 Mode S transponder become standard equipment.  The addition of these instruments allows real time Nexrad weather images to be displayed on the large Garmin 530 screen along with traffic information.  These additions greatly improve the level of cockpit information available to Mooney pilots.
