Pratt & Whitney Appoints Maintenance Facilities

In Australia, and in Canadian Rockies

Last week Pratt & Whitney Canada appointed both Tenix Aviation Pty Ltd. (Tenix), located at the Adelaide Airport in South Australia; and Rocky Mountain Aircraft, located at Springbank Airport west of Calgary, Alberta, as Recognized Maintenance Facilities (RMFs) for its PT6A and JT15D engine models.

Tenix offers engine support services to operators of P&WC-powered aircraft in Australia with the advantage of a one-stop-shop support for both aircraft and engines at its facility. Rocky Mountain Aircraft sells and leases aircraft worldwide; and both RMA and Tenix specialize in line and heavy maintenance for the corporate and airline market. "The appointment of Tenix as a P&WC Recognized Maintenance Facility makes it the very first facility in Australia that has been accorded RMF status; and we are pleased to be associated with a world-class organization like Rocky Mountain Aircraft and to have it as part of our P&WC RMF network," said Denis Parisien, Vice President, Service Centres, Operations. "Operators of P&WC-powered aircraft will now benefit from the full resources of the engine manufacturer and these facilities' outstanding reputation for high quality aircraft and engine maintenance services."

Mr. Parisien continued, "In their capacity as RMFs, these facilities' qualified technical staffs will carry out line maintenance on the JT15D engine model and advanced heavy maintenance on the PT6A engine family. These facilities will also offer its customers fly-in service, engine removal / installation, on-wing troubleshooting and repairs. Tenix offers avionics services in addition to propeller maintenance. This will compliment the P&WC overhaul facility in Brisbane, Australia, which offers overhauls, hot section inspections, heavy maintenance, borescope inspections and mobile repair teams. RMA's will complement the P&WC Regional Service Centre in Calgary, Alberta which offers Hot Section Inspections, heavy maintenance, borescope inspections and mobile repair teams along with a full Parts Distribution Centre."

"We are bringing support closer to the operators," said Mr. Parisien.
