Aero-News: Quote of the Day
ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news,
though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have
a bearing on the day's events and issues.
Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the
content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be
thought-provoking.
Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if
particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become
future Quotes of the Day.
Let us hear from you, folks!
Aero-News Quote of the Day
"'By the next Board meeting' is an unacceptable
timeline. Furthermore, the lack of inclusion of the entire TBO NAFI
Governance Subcommittee (ten members, plus three advisors) in the
rewrite process is unacceptable and further demonstrates NAFI's
lack of transparency.
"It is unconvincing that NAFI can or will respond
effectively and timely. In contrast, TBO NAFI's Interim Governance
Subcommittee can produce working drafts of core governance
documents quickly and efficiently.
"The rewrite of the By-Laws must include provisions
for the entire Board of Directors to be elected expeditiously by
the membership. Anything less is unacceptable.
"The entire existing Board must tender its
resignation upon enacting new By-Laws. Anything else is
unacceptable."
Source: Master CFI Rich Stowell, in a release
from Take Back Our NAFI rejecting a proposed plan of action from
the National Association of Flight Instructors to address the
concerns of a number of members "centered on the NAFI By-laws in
general and member involvement in the governance in
particular."
