Becker Avionics' WTG900 Selected For German Armed Forces' CH-53GA

Part Of Avionics Upgrade Program

The Becker Avionics' Warning Tone Generator WTG900 was recently selected by the German Armed Forces for the CH-53GA transport helicopter product improvement program, to be implemented by Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH on 40 of the 80 CH-53Gs of the German Army fleet.

The WTG900 was designed and qualified specifically for the most challenging environmental conditions associated with major military programs, such as NH90, CH53, and A400M. Becker says the system is based on a fully redundant design and achieves the highest level of reliability and availability.

The flexible design of the WTG900 allows the generation of every desired voice warning as they are recorded in MP3 format and uploaded into the equipment. Each voice warning can be triggered by up to three activation sources. Each of these three activation sources can be configured to be a discrete input, an ARINC 429 message or a MIL-BUS-1553 message.

The system also allows configuring priorities, alarm class, repetition numbers and several other warning parameters.
