Moon Express believes it is one step closer to becoming the first private company to land a spacecraft on the Moon. The company has signed a contract with Rocket Lab to launch three Moon Express robotic spacecraft to land on the Moon starting in 2017.
Moon Express is the first company in history to secure such a contract. The National Aircraft Business Association has come up with a great speaker for their annual convention being held in Las Vegas on November 17 through the 19th. Retired US Airways Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger III will be a featured speaker during the second-day Opening General Session of the convention known as NBAA-2015. While aviation has often been plagued with the problem of aircraft being too heavy, this time the problem is with the pilot being too light. The Pentagon has restricted pilots weighing less than 136 pounds from flying the F-35 because of an issue with the ejection seat. Tests have shown that below that weight, the seat would rotate too far forward during a low-speed ejection, possibly causing neck and back injuries. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
