Alsim AL42 Simulator Receives Level 5 Certification In Canada

Replicates The Diamond DA42 VI And Is Standard With The New Garmin G1000 NXI.

The Alsim AL42 simulator, an exact replica of a DA42 with real Garmin G1000, was recently certified as a Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) Level 5 by Transport Canada (TC).

In operation by Journey Air in Windsor, Ontario, located just over the border from Detroit, Michigan, the AL42 enables students to become familiar with aircraft patterns, systems and procedures. Students who are learning to become pilots complete their training on the AL42 towards the Multi/Instrument Flight Rating and then proceed to an actual aircraft. It is also certified to do instrument proficiency checks (IPCs).

Alsim’s latest variant of the AL42 replicates the Diamond DA42 VI and is standard with the new Garmin G1000 NXI.

“With Alsim having a long history and presence in Canada, it was a pleasure to work with Journey and Transport Canada on the certification of this FSTD. Moreover, we look forward to the opportunity of working with current and future clients and the Canadian regulator as simulators and matching legislation continues to evolve.” Says Dr. Scott Firsing of Alsim’s North American office in Austin, Texas.

Alsim continues to produce more type specific devices to this level in certification in Canada, China, the United States and elsewhere.
