Commander Aircraft Company Announces Investment By Tiger
Aircraft
Commander Aircraft Company, which filed for Chapter 11 on
December 27, 2002, has secured a court-confirmed financial
reorganization plan. Under the plan, Tiger Aircraft will acquire an
80% ownership interest in Aviation General, Incorporated,
Commander's publicly traded holding company. This will provide the
resources and working capital for Commander to move forward.
Tiger Aircraft and Commander Aircraft Company will join in
providing a full product line offering, from the single engine
fixed gear Tiger to the high performance single engine retractable
gear Commander 115 and Turbo-Charged Commander 115TC. This
thoroughbred line of aircraft continues a tradition of excellence,
offering the ultimate combination of safety, performance, comfort,
and utility in durable, aluminum aircraft constructed and certified
to the highest standards.
Synergies in production of the Tiger and Commander 115/115TC
models will lead to increased manufacturing efficiencies. Full line
marketing programs provide the complete aircraft ownership
experience with aircraft acquisition, preferred financing and
insurance, product service and support, aircraft trade up programs,
as well as pilot training from factory sponsored private pilot
training through factory level high performance transition and
instrument recurrency training.
VIP service will be provided to each aircraft owner wherever
they fly through Total Customer Care and product support with a
worldwide network of more than 150 authorized service center
representatives.
Orders for the new Commander 115 and Turbo-Charged Commander
115TC are now being taken for early delivery positions.
