EASA Issues STC For 3-Blade Propeller On Extra 300/200

MT-Propeller Given Authorization For The Modification

EASA has granted an STC to MT-Propeller for the installation of a 3-blade prop on Extra 300/200 aircraft.

The new prop is a next generation 3-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-9-B-C/C188-18b for EXTRA 300/200 airplanes powered by Lycoming AEIO-360-A1E engines. An FAA STC is in progress.

MT-Propeller says the new prop provides best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations; has bonded on stainless steel leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades; improves takeoff, climb, and cruise performance, and; has no life limitation or restricted rpm ranges.

The FOD repairable blades have the best weight to price ratio in the industry, according to the company.

MT-Propeller manufactures 30 propeller models from 2-blade to 6-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and 2-blade to 4-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.
