Turk News Service Claims 'Airplane Over The White House Was Not An Accident'

Claims It Was A DHS Test...

Turkey's Cihan News Agency has set its credibility back a bit with a news item that attracted our attention here at ANN HQ.

Cihan claims that the recent Cessna 150 ADIZ incursion was nothing more than a test contrived by the Department of Homeland Security. According to Cihan, "Experts claim that the incident was not derived from an accident, neglect or ignorance; on the contrary, it could be a "security test" planned by the US Department of Homeland Security."

Cihan added that "An expert on civilian aviation at the US Air Forces who wishes to remain anonymous said: '35,000 people alone work in the Congress building. The quick response for the evacuation of the large number of employees from the building in the shortest possible time was tested. Furthermore, the reactions of people, the panic, their knowledge of emergency exists and which the files were taken during the evacuation were observed in the test.'"

In the meantime, we have no word as whether the offending aviators involved in this little mess will attempt to use this missive to divert the FAA's upcoming enforcement actions. Is "The DHS made me do it," a viable defense? We'll keep you updated (grin).
