HAI Participating In Hawaii Helicopter Tour Task Force

Planning Meeting Being Held Thursday

On Jan. 9, 2020, Helicopter Association International (HAI) will participate in a planning meeting to establish the framework of an official Task Force charged with addressing aviation safety and noise concerns in the state of Hawaii. This is a follow up to the October 28th Hawaii Air Tour Informational Forum hosted by HAI. Other participants of the upcoming meeting include the FAA, the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), elected officials, Hawaii Helicopter Association (HHA), and the General Aviation Council of Hawaii.

“The main purpose of this meeting is to formalize a task force structure that addresses safety and noise issues and prioritizes community involvement,” said Cade Clark, Vice President of Government Affairs for HAI. “Local community involvement is not only warranted but necessary in coming up with meaningful long-term solutions regarding the future of helicopter tours in Hawaii.”

The group will also discuss the resources necessary to host public meetings, produce a third-party report, and make recommendations concerning the helicopter tour industry.
