While ANN was in attendance at the recently concluded National
Association of Broadcaster's Convention in Las Vegas, we became
aware that at least one airshow was getting with the times and
taking advantage of some of the many opportunities presented by the
current online media revolution.
The Aviation Nation Foundation (ANF) will air Aviation Nation
2007, the US Air Force's 60th Anniversary Capstone event, LIVE
online to audiences everywhere. The event takes place at Nellis Air
Force Base in Nevada, November 10-11.
"We are excited to be the Internet television solution of choice
for the Aviation Nation Foundation," said WhiteBlox Chairman and
CEO, Greg Demetriades. "We look forward with great anticipation to
celebrating the U. S. Air Force's 60th Anniversary with them, and
providing the tools that will allow fans across the country and
around the world to take part in this great event."
"The project is a patriotic multimedia extravaganza centered on
a salute to the U.S. Air Force during its 60th Anniversary Heritage
to Horizons celebration," said Kevin Holley, president of the
Aviation Nation Foundation. "Aviation Nation is a national showcase
for the U.S. Air Force and we're excited to partner with WhiteBlox
to expose an entirely new audience to 'America's Air Show.'"
Viewers will be able to communicate with other fans around the
world in real time as they watch the show. The show will include
two days of aerobatics, multiple military flying demonstrations,
hundreds of one-of-a-kind static displays, and phenomenal camera
angles--including in-cockpit cameras.
One of the largest air shows in the world, the Nellis Air Force
Base-Las Vegas Air Show was honored by the International Council of
Air Shows in 2006, receiving the Dick Schram Memorial Community
Relations Award--the most prestigious military air show award in
North America.
