Larkins Rides With the Blue Angels

Once You've Experienced the Blues...

Jamail Larkins received the opportunity to fly with the United States Navy Blue Angels in Pensacola (FL) on Tuesday. Larkins, National Spokesman for the EAA Vision of Eagles Program and newly-founded Careers in Aviation Program, flew with the Navy Demonstration team for 35 minutes over the coast of Pensacola's Navy Air Station.

"It was definitely the ride of a lifetime. Going supersonic (Mach 1.3) over the ocean, performing aerobatics in an F/A 18, and sustaining 7.4 Gs for an extending period of time is the biggest rush I have ever experienced," said Larkins.

The Blue Angels presented the opportunity to Larkins after hearing about his involvement with aviation youth programs, and promoting aviation to mainstream America.

2003 has been a busy year for Larkins. By year's end, he will have visited 30 cities, speaking to young people about aviation, performed in eight airshows, been featured in the prestigious Franklin Institute's 100 years of aviation exhibit; and attended Embry-Riddle University as a sophomore. "This opportunity will definitely give me an extra edge in helping to encourage other young people to achieve their dreams in the aviation industry," said Larkins.
