Republic Airways, Diamond Aircraft Bring LIFT To AirVenture

Showing The Latest In Flight Academy And Training Technology

Republic Airways’ Leadership In Flight Training (LIFT) Academy launch team will join executives from Diamond Aircraft at AirVenture 2018 to showcase LIFT – a new U.S.-based aviation training school based in Indianapolis. AirVenture attendees will get to see the cutting-edge Diamond technology LIFT students will train on, as well as be the first to experience the LIFT Lab, a virtual reality mobile flight simulator that is on display at AirVenture.

Republic is the only regional airline to operate its own training academy designed to create a “classroom-to-cockpit” path for its students. Just one month after launching the training academy, LIFT has received more than 400 applications and continues to actively recruit adventure-seeking, intellectually curious, aspiring aviators and offering them a world-class, innovative training program and a guaranteed, post-graduation pathway to a career at Republic. The first class will begin in September 2018 with monthly enrollments following.

“We are thrilled to bring our team and technology to AirVenture,” said Matt Koscal, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Republic Airways Holdings. “This is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase LIFT Academy and Diamond’s industry-leading technology with thousands of people who are just as passionate about the airline industry as we are.”

Last month LIFT took delivery of its first of 50 aircraft that it has on order with Diamond Aircraft. The 50 aircraft order represents the largest order for piston training aircraft by any U.S. based airline in history. Aircraft deliveries will continue through 2019.

LIFT selected the AUSTRO ENGINE jet-fuel piston-engine powered Diamond Aircraft DA40NG and DA42-VI as the flight school’s fleet, along with Diamond Flight Simulation Training Devices. The DA40NG and the DA42-VI represent the newest versions of Diamond’s technology-leading piston aircraft fleet, the first certified general aviation piston aircraft to combine modern technology airframes, avionics and powerplants. LIFT’s DA40NG and DA42-VI, along with the LIFT Lab, will be on display in the Diamond Aircraft exhibit booth in the general aircraft display area.

“We are very excited to announce the first of many deliveries to LIFT Academy and to have the LIFT Academy launch team joining the Diamond Aircraft display at EAA AirVenture 2018,” said Scott McFadzean, Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc. “There could not be a better event than EAA AirVenture to showcase the innovative line-up of all Diamond aircraft combined with the world-class, innovative training program offered by the LIFT Academy.”

LIFT representatives will be on hand throughout the duration of the event to answer questions about the training academy, connect with companies and educators and recruit interested students. Attendees who visit the LIFT booth will be among the first to experience the excitement of simulated piloting in the LIFT Lab and walk away with LIFT handouts and giveaways.
