StandardAero to Provide Pratt & Whitney Canada PW300 Service

Signs Agreement For Installation Of Engine Trend Data Transmission Equipment

StandardAero announced Monday at the NBAA Convention and meeting in Atlanta that it will add service and support for Pratt & Whitney Canada PW300-series engines in early 2011. The company will support PW305, 307 and 308 engines at its four service centers as well as its broad Mobile Service Team network. These new engine service capabilities are being added to better serve customers with one-stop OEM authorized airframe and engine services.

"If an operator of a Falcon 2000EX, Falcon 7X or Learjet 60 requires either a scheduled maintenance check or has trouble with his engine, we will assist on the phone, dispatch a team or schedule him into our facilities," said Scott Taylor, senior vice president, Business Aviation, StandardAero. "Operators can also get the benefit of combining an engine maintenance event with an airframe check or another of the myriad services we offer.  Adding the PW300 series to our capabilities helps our customers and moves us closer to our goal to offer broad, comprehensive services for some of the most prestigious business jets in operation today."

Additionally, StandardAero has entered into an agreement with Pratt & Whitney Engine Services, formerly Altair, for installing engine trend data transmission equipment.  Coupled with PW300 engines, the equipment reduces inspection intervals and puts the engine on a virtual on-condition maintenance plan, removing the requirement for a fixed-time hot section inspection.

In a related development, the company has been named as a dealer for Pratt & Whitney Engine Services.  This designation authorizes the company to install data transfer units at all its facilities, and perform the required certification work.

Operators of PW300-powered aircraft can benefit from the installing a Data Transfer Unit (DTU) that collects engine data and transfers it automatically and wirelessly to Pratt & Whitney's WebECTMTM data processing.  This service provides the operator with engine trend prognosis and shop event planning.  It also comes with a reduced Eagle Service Plan (ESP) hourly cost and the possibility, in the case of the PW308, to replace the hot-section inspection (HSI) with a borescope inspection, greatly reducing the maintenance burden, cost and downtime associated with the HSI.

"We're excited about the enhanced comprehensive services that we can now provide Falcon 7X, Falcon 2000EX and Lear 60 operators," said Scott Taylor, senior vice president, Business Aviation, StandardAero. "Today's announcement is another example of our expanding breadth of capabilities and service offerings."
