New Headquarters Are In North Carolina
Twin Commander Aircraft LLC is
moving from its long-time home in Washington State to North
Carolina. The move should be complete by the end of 2009.
The company's new home will be in Creedmoor, northeast of
Durham. Twin Commander will share a large office and warehouse
complex with Firstmark Aerospace and Aircraft Belts, Inc. All three
companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Firstmark Corporation of
Richmond, Virginia. Firstmark Aerospace acquired Twin Commander
Aircraft LLC in August 2008.
The move from Arlington, Washington, to Creedmoor has been
taking place over the summer in stages. Records and tooling have
already been transferred. The final step-relocating the extensive
parts inventory to Creedmoor-will begin in early November following
a required FAA audit of the Creedmoor facility. The physical move
will take place in two stages to maintain continued availability of
parts throughout the entire process.
Twin Commander Aircraft President Matt Isley said the company's
goal is "zero service interruptions" during the move to North
Carolina. "We have worked with Twin Commander operators and our
authorized service centers to anticipate their parts needs through
the end of the year," he said. "This will help us manage
distribution of parts so that no one experiences a delay in
receiving a needed part while the move is underway."
Factory technical support services will not be affected by the
move, Isley added.

"We have taken great pains to ensure that our move to North
Carolina will enable us to continue delivering the same quality of
service and parts that our operators have come to expect for their
Commanders. We have spent many months training new staff to ensure
a smooth transition. In fact, several key members of our Arlington
staff are relocating with us to our new home in Creedmoor, and a
few have already done so."
Isley said no major changes are planned in the company's
parts-supply strategy. "We have many outstanding vendors in the
Washington area, and we plan on maintaining and growing those
relationships even as we head east," he noted. "Our suppliers have
been, and continue to be, a major part of our success and deserve a
lot of the credit for the quality and performance of the parts that
keep Commanders flying at the top of their class."
