Curtain Falls On Sebring Aviation Expo

Says 2019 Was The Last Year For The Event

Sebring Regional Airport in Sebring, FL will no longer host its Aviation Expo in January, but has offered little explanation for the move.

Anecdotally, attendance by exhibitors and visitors had been falling for some time, and there has been competition in the space from Deland, FL, which began putting on a Sport Aviation show in the fall three years ago.

Sebring airport management released a statement to the media Thursday.

"Sebring Regional Airport has proudly hosted U.S. Sport Aviation Expo for the last fifteen years. Beginning as a small, local event, Expo has grown to become an international trade show with exhibitors, vendors, and visitors from all over the globe," the statement said.

"January 2019’s Aviation Expo was the final Expo to be hosted by Sebring Regional Airport. Airport Management, Board and Staff are extremely appreciative of the support shown by exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and participants. This support has assisted in the growth of the sport aviation industry and increased economic development in Highlands County.

"Sebring Regional Airport will continue to focus resources and energy toward the development of new programs in emerging aviation areas including manned, optionally manned, and unmanned systems. This focus will include aerial, terrestrial and marine platforms.

"Sebring Regional Airport will continue to vigorously support existing aviation-related tenants with a focus on growth and vibrancy of our region. Commitment to all segments of aviation has always been a cornerstone that will continue to be a core value.

"Sebring Regional Airport looks forward to the next chapter with enthusiasm and pledges continued commitment to quality growth and expansion."
